Overview
The members of the local community should be aware of and informed about the ministry of Young Life. By fostering relationships with local businesses, churches, and civic groups, Young Life's mission to reach adolescents with the Gospel can be more clearly communicated and supported. As community members and donors grow in their understanding of the ministry and its impact, Young Life can strengthen local partnerships and invite deeper engagement.
Job Description
- Work closely with the Area Director to ensure that all significant Young Life activities, stories, and events are publicized in a timely and compelling manner to both the broader community and current supporters.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with the Donor Care Specialist and Event Coordinator to develop materials that communicate the impact and needs of the local Young Life area.
- Create and manage social media content that highlights ministry stories, leader and student testimonies, upcoming events, and donor appreciation.
- Ensure that events and milestones are shared through local newspapers, newsletters, community bulletins, and appropriate media outlets.
- Represent the Young Life area at local community events and networking functions to increase visibility and connection.
Qualifications
- Experience in business/community relations, marketing, journalism, or nonprofit communications.
- Strong written and verbal storytelling skills.
- Proficient in social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Instagram, Facebook).
- Comfortable interacting with local business owners, donors, and community members.
- Excellent organizational skills and a heart for ministry.
